So, this year I has no notes but I'm actually getting the post up instead of notes being lost in the depths of my house. In which the tidbits of the con, random things remembered. Photos will come a little later.

For those I know going to P4, did you need a badge laminating?

I'm gonna print off my badge to go in my lanyard later and I have an A4 lamintor. I can probably fit a few more things in the sheet so if anyone has anything they wants done let me know before 5pm tonight.

Yesterday was Expo. Photos can be found here, though they're only of our costumes, plus the dalek wondering the convention.

Finally I get to posting something about P3! Part 1 of 3. Other should come soon when I find the time to type up the notebook full of notes I took, though feel free to poke me for more as a reminder.

Argh - it has been pointed out the badge phrase was meant to be Weir It's At (pun upon Where It's At) and I wrote it as Weir's It At(pun on Where's It At(?)). Now I'm confused and it's late and I tried to redo the graphic but the redo came out dodgy as it had to be mostly from scratch and rushed.

Which is better?

Anyone around to give opinions on the proposed P3 Weir badge? Nebulan provided the line art and I've made a few mockups for badge designs, not that I'm a wonderful graphics person or anything. I might change the font possibly or colour in Weir maybe? The catchphrase is at the request of [livejournal.com profile] million_moments.

If anyone has an ideas please share! It's a bit bigger than fullsize atm - they will be for 38mm badges of which I was gonna get 50 to take to Pegasus 3.

[livejournal.com profile] naughtyelf pointed this out on [livejournal.com profile] 4400spoilers - Jacqui will be at London Expo. WHEEEEE! It's like a mini 4400 convention now!

Pictures from expo up. Not very good ones at all but I did try my best with my not so great camera. :)

Just got back from Expo - so much fun. I am exhausted, I have blisters, I spent so much more money than I expected. I have enough DVD's to keep my entertained for a couple months. I also have an adorable kitty head cushion, pocky, american candy, frebbies to investigate, cool tshirt, Serenity comics and a Supernatural Prequel comic!

I must go shower and bed but first I repost here what I already posted on GW Sanctuary thread.

The second of the three Pegasus One reports. Covering mostly Saturday, but not necessarily in order. Main segments are for Ellie, Craig and Joe. Part 1 here and part 3 here.

Saturday went like this... )

So, I went to the Wolf convention Pegasus One February 3-6, and practically a year later here's my report - or at least the first part of three. I'll be linking them all together, putting it all in as one would simply make it too long to pay attention to. Part 2 here and 3 here.

Why so late? It got put off for other responsibilities like essays etc and then I lost my notes after moving house, and moving house again. Finally, I found them and so here is my long overdue report. No pictures to go with it since my camera sucked and couldn't focus on anything further away than the guy/gal sitting in front of me's head.

Better late than never )

This guy(Grant Gould)'s - artwork is da bomb! He does fanart for new BSG mainly it seems but also has ones for Star Wars, a damn cool Heroes one, a Rose/10 Dr Who print and 24, Lost etc - plus he does commissions. Really love quite a few of those. If it weren't so expensive (and if he had any SGA ones) then I'd be tempted to buy some to get signed at a convention.

To explain that's what Gene Roddenbury said to try and remember how to pronounce Geroge Takei's name - rhymes with okay. The title is relevant as I just saw George Takei today. He's an incredibly nice bloke and a wonderful speaker. I got a very lovely autograph and even got my picture taken with him (though it came out blurry). I probably should write more about it, but I'm tired by now and just thought to mention the fact. He's a very interesting man as well, plus very well spoken, polite and kind. I'm so glad I went to see him speak because he's obviously had an exciting life and has a lot of experience to share. What was particularly poignant was when he talked of being sent to an interrment camp in WW2. I had never heard of that prior to listening to his interview, so though it wasn't a surprise to hear him talk about it, it was still very harrowing a thing by the sound of it and it scary to know it was done then (and history repeats of course, considering what has been claimed about post 9/11 roundups of Arab American citizens). But he seemed to deal with it okay because he was so young at the time, though I'm amazed that by his description his father still had faith in the political system - that it could be as bad, or as good, as the people of the country.

His talk also brought up the point of how difficult it can be for Asian actors to get roles because practically all roles are not written with an Asian character in mind and usually it's because a director changes there mind and rewrites or decides they'd prefer the actor evne if they'd evisioned someone white/non-Asian originally - which was why his being cast as Sulu was quite revolutionary, the same as with the character Uhuru being both black and female and a professional (a champion for women's movement and against aparteid),and Chekov as a trusted Russian team member when it was in the Cold War. George had nothing but praise for Gene Roddenberry and the fact he'd had such visions of the future, and very optimistic ones at that, that had challenged the mindsets of people in the 1960's. It was truly inspirational to listen to.
