Stranger Things

Dmitri Antonov/Joyce Byers/Jim "Chief" Hopper - I would love to see Dmitri over in the USA with them, something where he's adjusting to the move and the consequences of his choice to help Jim, but also there being a long distance bond and reuniting for adventures together would be fun to see too if you prefer that scenario.

Joyce Byers/Scott Clarke/Jim "Chief" Hopper - I would love to see Scott teaching Joyce more about science. Maybe some confusion about whether Scott is just being so nice or if he likes either of them and/or keeping things purely friends while the kids still go to his school that makes it a conflict of interest to date any parents. Jim being grumpy jealous but in a very 'but who am I jealous of' way would be interesting.

If you want to explore period-appropriate homophobia/biphobia or prejudice against polyamory as part of those ships, and difficulties with being together because of that or characters figuring out their identity, I'm okay with reading that so long as it's on the milder end and there's overall a happy ending

Timeless

Garcia Flynn/Wyatt Logan/Lucy Preston - I am a fan of the AO3 tag Wyatt Logan's Bisexuality Crisis, so if you felt like adding that kinda thing into any Timeless fanworks I would eat it up. And I would adore anything fixing the Flynn ending from the movie, having them saving him and proving there's still so much left to live for.

Pirates of the Carribean

James Norrington/Elizabeth Swann/Will Turner - pretty happy with whatever you want to do for this but I would love for some pining mixed in if you're up for that. I think Norrington being on the Dutchman with Will could be an interesting angle, but I'm equally happy if you want to have him escape his canon fate somehow or even just ignore that too. I think a modern AU might be fun for these three or a fandom fusion if there's a setting that would translate well from their POTC roles.

Red Notice

Sarah Black | The Bishop/Nolan Booth/John Hartley - No specific ideas but what I love about this ship is the banter. Adventures would be fun, but so would seeing what their dynamic is like in other scenarios, such as being domestic together somehow. If you can think of an AU situation where they still have the same kind of complicated rivalry dynamics then I'd be interested to read that sort of thing too.

MCU

Maggie Lang/Scott Lang/Jim Paxton - would love to see them working out their new family dynamics and growing closer as any antagonism fades over time. Happy to have Hope in there too (and/or Jimmy) for an extended polycule. Dealing with how Scott's choices and absences affect their relationships would be great angst if you feel like grappling with that.

Darcy Lewis/Monica Rambeau/Jimmy Woo - loved seeing them work together, so a story about how they find their way back together/are drawn together again would be fab.

Matt Murdock/Augustus "Pug" Pugliese/Jennifer Walters - I know Pug didn't get a love of development in S1 of She-Hulk but he seems like a genuine sweetheart who likes Jen as both her personas, same as Matt, and there's apparently comic canon where he's in love with Jen. I think it could be fun especially because Pug is a little starstruck by superheroes and him adoring both Jen and Matt for their heroing and their lawyering would ne nifty. Also I feel like Pug has malewife kinda vibe, so him being domestic and taking care of them, cooking for them, maybe being a bit of a foodie etc would be nice.

Augustus "Pug" Pugliese/Nikki Ramos/Jennifer Walters - I would love a fic where both Pug and Nikki are crushing on Jen and bond that way as well as over work and things like the sneaker/costume linkup favors. Them being a team with Jen and always there for her. And then something something leading to an OT3.

DC's Arrowverse

For ships with Caitlin in, you are welcome to AU her as not getting her powers if you want but if you have her with Frost as another personality like they've gone with in canon it would be good to see how that works into the polyam situation if possible.

Oliver Queen/Savitar/Felicity Smoak - I would love to see a canon divergence where Savitar accepts Team Flashes help end of S3 but ultimately end up going to Team Arrow as a better fit. Parallels of the characters' darkness/tough methods/choices would be nifty. Oliver with his darkness being able to get through to Savitar with his, and together them helping Savitar find his lost humanity and who he is outside of the fate he thought he was meant to have. Also happy if you want to do an AU where Oliver and Felicity go properly dark and team up with Savitar as villains utilising their own unique skillsets.

Nora Darhk/Ray Palmer/Felicity Smoak - for this pairing I'd really love an AU during that timeskip period from the now erased timeline where Felicity raised Mia in that secret location. She can't have many visitors due to the risks of being found but Nora's fairy godmother powers make visiting very easy for them - maybe have Ray and family visit for Jewish holidays especially, maybe Nora suggests the Legends of Tomorrow bookclub happens there or they do their own private bookclub together just the two of them while Ray looks after the kids, but basically would love to see over time they all get very close.

Killer Frost/Savitar/Mirror Clone Iris West - I love Snowestallen and this is basically all their villainous selves in a ship, though it doesn't have to be them acting as villains, angst where they are attempting to be reformed and finding their own identities away their past memories would be interesting. I would love for a focus on Mirror Iris especially getting some agency after being freed of Mirror Mistress' control. I don't mind if her canon death is included so long as she comes back somehow.

Barry Allen/Ronnie Raymond/Caitlin Snow - Something where Ronnie survives 2x01 would be fab, although I could also go for an AU where they all happily worked together at STAR Labs or another slightly different Earth where Ronnie was always on Team Flash from day 1, or a Ronnie from another Earth comes into their lives in S2 or early S3 causing angst. I love the idea of Barry and Ronnie getting on so well doing science together, Ronnie being a big flirt as his outgoing self (but it being somewhat serious too hidden in there), and Caitlin having a conflict with how she feels about her past love Ronnie and a new possibility with Barry.

Barry Allen/Oliver Queen/Iris West - an AU where Oliver isn't with Felicity and the Elseworlds experience stirs something in him yearning to have something like what Barry and Iris have would be so good. But there are I'm sure plenty of other interesting angles for this ship, there's not a lot of content for them so I'm bound to like whatever you come up with. Extra Oliver/Iris focus as part of it would be appreciated since that's such a rarepairing itself.

Barry Allen/Caitlin Snow/Eddie Thawne/Iris West - this is my poolnoodle OT4 with basically no fanworks I didn't make myself and I would love anything for it honestly. This ship is my antidote to the s1 ship wars from the fandom, where instead all those four characters I love get to be happy together (but angst first is good).

Uncharted

For any of the Harry ships I'd just love to see him have another fate and either not be so villainous (or appearing as villainous but actually triple crossing to go with it) or to survive and work at making up for his actions. And if you felt like writing Nate having a bit of a sexuality crisis to go with any Nate/Harry containing ships that would be great angst I would lap up.

For Chloe ships I headcanon her as being on the aromantic spectrum – it's not necessary to include that for me to enjoy but would be cool if you did feel like exploring that idea.

Samuel Drake/Chloe Frazer/Nadine Ross - I really enjoy them all having banter together, Chloe and Nadine forging their new partnership, and the tension from Sam and Nadine's history. Would love something set post Lost Legacy and them getting together with adventuring going on. I could definitely see Chloe being amused at Sam and Nadine being in denial about their feelings as they go through a rivals > friends > pining idiots > lovers arc.

Charlie Cutter/Samuel Drake/Chloe Frazer/Nadine Ross - Charlie's an interesting character we didn't get to see much of, and seemed a decent bloke too, and I think adding him in the mix would be interesting too. I could see him and Sam getting on especially well with their interests.

Nathan Drake/Elena Fisher/Harry Flynn/Chloe Frazer

Nathan Drake/Elena Fisher/Harry Flynn - Canon divergent stuff with Elena and Chloe being BAMFs who realise they really enjoy each others company too, as well as Nate's, would be fun. I'm also fond of the idea of Nate/Elena as they are shown having been in the Uncharted 4 epilogue also slowly ending up in a relationship with Chloe and/or Harry later on as they flit in and out of their lives.

Never Have I Ever

Paxton Hall-Yoshida/Ben Gross/Devi Vishwakumar - We don't get much Paxton/Ben interaction in canon so a bit more focus on that connection as part of the ship would be great to see. Ben being the one to tutor Paxton could be a fun canon divergent AU or future fic where they find their way back to each other after growing more as individuals. I love the friendships on the show, so it'd be great to have a fic that involves plenty of the other characters too.

BtVS & Related Fandoms

Angel/Cordelia Chase/Allen Francis Doyle

Angel/Cordelia Chase/Allen Francis Doyle/Wesley Wyndam-Pryce - Basically would be nice to have something where Doyle lives or comes back somehow (ghost Doyle would work too, angsty as it is). I'd be happy for Fred to be in there too for the OT4 that has Wesley in as well, and for there being an extended polycule I'm open to other characters being included potentially too, if there's any you'd like to include just ask.

Downton Abbey

Jack Barber/Mary Crawley/Henry Talbot - With Mary/Henry having a less conventional schedule and their own interests/responsibilities that take them away from each other, I like the idea of Mary having someone else in Jack even though I imagine he'd be away working plenty too. I think this would be good as a V based on the setup from the show but Jack/Henry is fine to include too. Mary getting involved more in films with Jack would also be appreciated if you felt like including that.

Festivids 2018 recs

Been meaning to do this post for about a month...oops. Anyhow, I really enjoyed taking part in Festivids this year - the collection for it is over here.

I made a Hackers (1995) vid "Dial Me Up" for bingeling - it's short but snappy 1.30 mins since it's for one of the less featured characters in the film, Ramon "Phantom Phreak" Sanchez. He's not in the final third of the film sadly but he gets some great lines and is a very stylish individual too.

I also had the gift of a Legion (TV) vid "No Maker Made Me" made for me by caramarie, which is a very creepy vid, exactly fitting for the mindfuck that is Legion and the direction S2 went in. Warning for big end of S2 spoilers in it and probably won't make any sense if you've not seen the show.

Fic Writer’s Year In Review

Okay, saw the this done by a few people I know and thought yeah I want to do that... and then failed at doing it for most of two months but hey-ho, here it is. I saw a few different versions of this and have smushed them together into one.

General fic stats for 2018

This was harder than it should be to do because I reposted a load of fics on Ao3 last year and so had to compile this manually to not include those. Still got more to shift over from FF.net too at some point.

Word count on AO3: 107,474 words
Average Words Per Story: 3256
Number of fics on AO3: 33 (also 8 fanmixes and 2 moodboards)
Fandoms written for: The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Fringe, BBC Sherlock, Altered Carbon, Primeval, Once Upon A Time, Teen Wolf, Dirty Sexy Money – also Arrow for a fanmix.
Total Words Written: actually more than what's posted, I think twice that. I'm gonna try to keep track of both in 2019.

Female gaming tshirts (uk post)

Earlier in the week I got a bit incensed at a Tesco Clothing newsletter. Why? Because they had gaming tshirts advertised with the slogan "Boys to men...The whole family will love these" which I felt was rather thoughtless because the whole family can't enjoy considering they only stock boys/mens tshirts. Now I'm all for ignoring categories of clothing, but wearing men's tshirts can be tricky if they're tightfit and you have an ample busom so just buying the mens ones isn't exactly a great solution in all cases. More to the point I generally felt alienated by that slogan too, so I wrote to Tesco to complain that I felt it was excluding female gamers with that style of slogan when it could just as well have had a unisex and unoffensive slogan.

I actually got a fairly decent and quick reply, though the gist of which was that the slogn was because it was only men/boys tshirts and the lack fo female game tshirts was probably one of two things.

1) they didn't think they'd sell
2) the stockists don't make them

Regardless of which is the case I got told that they'd pass on my request to the buying team and that any other female gamers who wanted there to be more gaming tshirts could similarly contact Tesco's to say they would like to see them, as if there was enough demand proven then they might starting looking to stock them.

So if you're a female gamer in the UK, or know of one who might be interested in this, and you want more gaming tshirts at Tescos the email to politely poke them about this matter is: customer.service AT tesco.co.uk

Trollbridge pledge

Help fund a new Terry Pratchett-based film, Trollbridge. Currently the Australian (whoo!) production company is taking pledges to see if they can raise enough to make it a reality after 8 years trying.
