Yay, thanks for the compliment, so nice to get. The last line seemed a twisted but natural development on the military family background I gave him - for all the resentment, he doesn't totally dismiss the military, it's still more influential on him than perhaps he'd like. It made for a good, unexpected, reason for why he really went, ontop of the scientific curiousity everyone must have had; it's designed to get to you which is a little mean of me as a writer but I thought worked well so I went with it. ;D
