Let me start by saying I watched the film first and enjoyed it, then I read the book, probably the best order to do it in since I found the book deeper, less compromised after the major edits of the story in the film.

Spoilers for both the film and book )

I wrote a review of the Naughty Dog PS3 Action/Adventure title "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune" for darkorb.co.uk - read it here. :)

Time for my Primeval thoughts.

Let's start off with Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End game, for the PS3. I had high hopes for this game because it sounded so promising from the synopsis and articles on it, however it royally flumped. I'd give it at best a 5/10, as it turned out a very mediocre title. I still enjoyed it just enough to keep playing and finish it but I have no desire to replay whatsoever even though I missed out a number of bonus items.

So, where did it go wrong?

Well, weekend has been both good and bad. Pretty sick yesterday, spent all day in bed sleeping, trying to sleep or reading. Finished Terry Pratchett's "Making Money," which as I'd heard suggested was not as good as "Going Postal". Still entertaining but not quite as good as expected. I've actually got through nearly all his books now, bar spin off Discworld ones, Strata and the rest of "Small Gods" I think. Recently read "Wee Free Men," "Amazing Maurice and his educated rodents," plus "Wintersmith" - all quite enjoyable even if technically classed as kids books.

Board games was good. No Seafarers of Catan sadly for me but we played Warrior Knights, took 5? hours including several food breaks but most was spent on learning rules and as complicated as it seems it starts to make sense fairly soon after the first round and I wouldn't mind playing again. Had a quick game of Fluxx before ordering takeaway, reminds me must fill in the blanxx for that amusingly, and after dinner we tried Sin City, the board game - possibly the second worst board game I've played, beaten only by The Invisible Man boardgame from 1940/50's that I cannot infact find mention of on the net.

By tomorow I'll have had my journal a year. I'm pretty pleased with that, as my very first post points out it was a resolution I kept - I wanted to have a website (oh look I do now, though not so flash as I'd wanted) but enver got to learning php (somethings don't change, do they?). Hence my blog was born. It's probably no more interesting than when it started, mostly full of fandom stuff so I'm presuming that's the thing that keeps it going. I know many people have separate blogs for fic etc but I can't be bothered and besides which purpleyin is already taken.

My fandom review month by month - to be done in 3 parts, if anyone is interested at all that is. Four months sorting through at once is enough for today anyway.

Going over entries reminded how stressful the house deciding thing was and that big room was henry and mine sone condition whilst other housemates were fairly picky. looking back I can see they got pretty much everything they wanted and we didn't get that one condition. Henry didn't even want to move! And my only other concern was doorbell and locks on doors, neither of which were present. We REALLY got the raw deal. X(

Also hadn't had my hair cut since March, until last week. But I did get the blue hair I talked about so frequently. :D

Ok, I had all this stuff I wanted to say earlier and didn't get round to posting, about my marks and happiness and the lack of rabbits on the campus recently but...

I just watched SGA "The Seige Part1" and even having had a certain something spoilt by imbelic posters on Gateworld who don't know the meaning of spoiler tags I was still shocked and saddened by what happened.
It was so very in the spirit of them and not pointless but still very very unhappy.

I can really only express it as: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

That's all for now. I still feel hope though - and there will be fics on the matter for sure.
