I forgot about the soldier at the Arc. I was wondering if was some weird anomaly thing-Nick being right about the world going to hell in a handbasket because something was changed. But that would get so complicated with all the dino wrangling and not!camping they're doing, not to mention Helen.
I did the same WTF with the picture. Yes, his grief is believable, but only that I believe he's upset. Not in that I think he really had something going on with her-it *really* doesn't gel with what little they had last season.
I think Abby wasn't hurt because those spiky things seemed more floppy than anything. Perhaps more like feelers or almost!feet that some worms, and little critters have.
